Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use insurance to pay for my treatment?

Empower Her Physical Therapy is a fee-for-service clinic and does not partner with insurance companies. This means that you are responsible for payment for physical therapy services at the time of your visit.

Under insurance contracts, physical therapists are limited what type of treatment you receive and how much time they can spend with you. Dr. Jamie believes that your care deserves no limitations. By not working with insurance companies, she is able to give you the highest quality and exact care you need to help you reach your goals.

We can provide you with an invoice that can you submit independently to your insurance. We accept payment in the form of credit card, HSA, FSA, check, or cash.

What makes Empower Her Physical Therapy different than clinics who accept insurance?

When you work with Dr. Jamie, you get her undivided attention for the entire duration of your session. She only works with one client at a time allowing her to give you the most individualized care and highest quality of treatment without limitations. It is important that her clients feel heard and supported all along their health journey and well beyond the symptom or issue that brings them in to see her. Her mission is to work WITH you and empower you so you can reach your goals.

What should I expect during my initial evaluation?

The initial evaluation is 60 minutes in length. Dr. Jamie will learn about your injury, symptoms, and goals. She will then perform a series of tests to determine the cause of your symptoms, perform treatment according to what she found in her assessment, and provide you with a home exercise program to do until your next visit. Please wear comfortable clothing you can move freely in - workout clothing is ideal. Be sure you wear footwear that you would normally during your workouts.

Do I need a prescription from my physician?

Missouri is considered a direct access state. To get treatment started, you do not need a prescription to see Dr. Jamie. If your treatment plan lasts longer than 30 days, state law requires a prescription for physical therapy from a health care provider such as a physician, nurse practitioner, or chiropractor.

For fitness coaching, no prescription is needed.

I have Medicare. Can you work with me?

Empower Her Physical Therapy is not a Medicare provider and we do not provide physical therapy services for those individuals with Medicare. Dr. Jamie can provide you with a wellness based program, but that is not considered medical treatment and would be a fee for service visit.
